Li Auto ran a livestreamed range test of its 2026 i6 electric SUV ahead of the car's launch, and CarNewsChina reports that the car covered 811 km at an average of 11.8 kWh per 100 km. Sina Finance, on 25 October, says the 2026 i6 goes on sale on 28 October with a 96 kWh in-house battery, and that the tested range exceeded 811 km.
CarNewsChina says the rear-drive test car's rating is 780 km on China's CLTC cycle, so the result was about 4% above it. The outlet says the test ran for about 18 hours around Lake Tai, in mild weather of 13 to 20 degrees Celsius, with four occupants, around 50 kg of equipment and the air conditioning on.
The battery is the supply-chain detail. CarNewsChina says the pack is Li Auto's own 5C design, with cells made by CALB and Sunwoda rather than CATL. CnEVPost reported earlier this month that the launch date was 28 October and that deliveries in China would start in early November.
Analysis
This is a company-run test on slow city roads in mild weather. It says nothing about highway range or winter range, where consumption rises. The certified figure is still 780 km CLTC, and CLTC numbers usually sit well above WLTP or EPA ratings. See this desk's cold-weather range explainer for why.
