BYD launched the second-generation Seal 07 in China on 5 November 2026, refreshing both the all-electric and DM-i plug-in hybrid lines with a lower starting guide price and longer listed range. CnEVPost reported guide prices from 139,900 yuan (about $20,830 at the outlet's conversion) to 172,900 yuan across five trims—two DM-i and three all-electric.
Prices and range
According to CnEVPost, the two DM-i trims are priced at 139,900 and 149,900 yuan and both use a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine with a 160 kW front motor and a 38 kWh battery that the company rates at 330 km CLTC electric range—100 km more than the outgoing DM-i's maximum of 230 km. The three all-electric trims are listed at 149,900, 159,900 and 172,900 yuan, share a 76.744 kWh second-generation Blade Battery, and are rated at 775 km CLTC, up 70 km from the March 2026 Seal 07 EV.
CnEVPost says the all-electric starting guide price is 20,000 yuan (about 12%) below the March EV launch, and the DM-i starting price is 9,900 yuan (about 7%) below the September 2025 DM-i launch. Trade-in prices are listed 4,000 yuan below each guide price where eligible.
Size, power and driver aids
Both powertrains measure 5,080 mm long with a 2,960 mm wheelbase under the Ocean Aesthetics 2.0 design, per CnEVPost—85 mm longer and 60 mm longer in wheelbase than the outgoing cars. All-electric trims use a single rear motor rated at 245 kW (329 hp) and 365 Nm, with a claimed 0–100 km/h time of 5.5 seconds. DM-i variants pair a 115 kW 1.5T with the 160 kW motor and are quoted at 7.7 seconds to 100 km/h and 3.3 L/100 km NEDC fuel use with a depleted battery.
Driver-assistance packaging was trimmed with the lower prices: higher EV trims and the higher DM-i get God's Eye C as standard, with LiDAR-equipped God's Eye B optional; entry trims keep conventional cruise without those navigation-assist packages, CnEVPost notes—unlike the outgoing DM-i, which made God's Eye C standard on three lower trims.
Context
CnEVPost's compiled Seal-lineup sales show 46,834 units in October 2026, down 19.32% year on year, and 351,557 in the first 10 months, down 14.85% year on year—figures for the broader Seal family, not Seal 07 alone. Range, price and power claims are BYD's as reported by CnEVPost; this desk did not independently dynamometer-test the car.
