Tesla opens Robotaxi rides in Fort Worth, its seventh city with unsupervised service
Tesla's official Robotaxi account announced rides in Fort Worth from 6 a.m. on Monday 2 November, and reports put the service area at about 143 square miles. Tesla has not said how many vehicles serve the city, what rides cost there, or whether the Fort Worth and Dallas zones will connect.

Tesla's driverless ride service has added a new Texas city. The company's official Robotaxi account posted on X late on Sunday: "Robotaxi available in Fort Worth starting tomorrow, 6am". The post was reshared by Ashok Elluswamy, who leads Tesla's AI software work, and service began at 6 a.m. Central Time on Monday 2 November.
The Fort Worth Report says Fort Worth is the seventh city to join the service. Its reporter booked a ride from the Near Southside District to a downtown restaurant, which took about 15 minutes through midday traffic.
The service area
According to Not a Tesla App, the Fort Worth zone covers about 143 square miles. It is centred on downtown and reaches Saginaw to the north, White Settlement to the west and Benbrook to the south, with its eastern edge near Haltom City and Forest Hill. That would make it Tesla's third largest unsupervised zone, behind Austin at 272 square miles and Houston at 254.
The Fort Worth Report adds that service in east Fort Worth is limited. Riders book through the Tesla Robotaxi app on iOS or Android, and existing Tesla account holders can sign in with that account.
Where Fort Worth fits
Fort Worth joins Austin, Dallas, Houston, Miami, Orlando and Tampa as cities where Tesla offers rides without a safety driver, Not a Tesla App reports. It is the first new city in about three months, after Orlando and Tampa in late July. The San Francisco Bay Area service is separate and still has a safety driver in every car.
Tesla's Robotaxi account said last week that operating hours are now 6 a.m. to 2 a.m., as this desk reported on 31 October. The Fort Worth Report says Tesla also plans to bring the service to San Antonio, Phoenix, Las Vegas and Jacksonville, though no dates were given.
What is not yet known
Where's the driver? notes that Tesla has not disclosed how many vehicles are assigned to Fort Worth or whether the Fort Worth and Dallas zones will eventually be linked. Tesla's launch post also gave no pricing for the new city. For more on driverless services, see our earlier coverage of Waymo and Toyota's plans for Japan and Xpeng's Guangzhou robotaxi permit.
