What EV fans on X are discussing: a Tesla Manufacturing post says Giga Berlin built 7,000 Model Y in one week

TeslaNorth and Drive Tesla Canada both quote a 23 October post from @gigafactories saying Giga Berlin built 7,000 Model Y in one week. This desk could not open that post, and neither outlet presents an independent count of the cars.

EV fans on X have been passing around a one-week production claim dated 23 October 2026. TeslaNorth and Drive Tesla Canada both quote the account @gigafactories, which they identify as Tesla Manufacturing. The sentence they print is: "Ramp-up is in full swing at Giga Berlin. This week we hit the next production milestone: 7,000 Model Y built in one week."

The post those outlets quote is this status on X. This desk tried to open that page on 24 October 2026 and did not get the post. The request was refused, so the wording here is the wording the two news stories print, not a copy taken from X itself. The 23 October date is the date both stories put on the post.

Neither story says someone outside Tesla counted the cars. TeslaNorth presents the 7,000 as what the company said in that post. Drive Tesla Canada likewise attributes the announcement to the Tesla Manufacturing account. A quarterly production table is a different document. This story does not treat a one-week social-media claim as a checked factory total. Tesla has not, in the pages cited here, published a separate production filing for that week.

Both outlets then multiply the week into a year. TeslaNorth writes that holding 7,000 a week would work out to roughly 364,000 vehicles a year, and it notes that Tesla did not say how long it expects to keep that pace. Drive Tesla Canada prints the same annual figure, about 364,000 Model Ys. Seven thousand times 52 is 364,000. That product is arithmetic on the claimed week. It is not a target in the sentence the outlets quote.

The two stories also disagree on earlier weeks. TeslaNorth cites 4,000 Model Y a week in February 2023 and 6,000 in early 2024. Drive Tesla Canada cites 5,000 in a week in March 2023 and 6,000 in early 2024. Those sequences do not match, so the older counts stay out.

Drive Tesla Canada writes that Tesla began bringing German-built Model Ys into Canada in September 2025, first through Halifax, and that the switch avoided a 25 percent counter-tariff on U.S.-built vehicles. That is the outlet's account of why the plant matters for Canadian orders. It is not a check on the 7,000.

Analysis

The 7,000 is a claim about one week, from an account the two outlets identify as Tesla's, and it is not matched here to a filing. It does not show what the plant will build next week. The 364,000 figure is a full year only if every week matches this one, which the quoted sentence does not say.
